Very true.

This week, we’re celebrating the theatre teachers who do so much more than direct productions.

They build rooms where students feel seen.
They create ensembles where every voice matters.
They help young people step into someone else’s story and, along the way, understand their own a little better.

To every theatre educator calling cues, building confidence, making space, solving problems, drying tears, opening doors, and reminding students that they belong.

Thank you. Your work changes students long after the curtain closes.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week.

Our early years class, Best Beginners, is (if we say so ourselves) ⭐️ exceptional ⭐️

Our incredible head of early years, Beckie Briley, still gets swarmed by grown-up beginners every Saturday who are now well into secondary school and remember their first steps into the world of performing arts with her years before joining 'Big Best'!

This gently encouraging 90 minute class, combines drama, movement, music, and play to help build creativity, coordination, communication, and, crucially, confidence all while making friends and having fun.

It's the perfect first step ahead of starting school and this is the perfect time to join, so your young person can go into September having spent the summer making new friends, learning new skills, and growing their self esteem.

Book your one or two week trial now so see how they get on. See you Saturday!

Best Theatre Arts is baaaack!

Summer Term starts again tomorrow ☀️ and for the first time in a while, both our Saturday Best School of Musical Theatre classes and Best Beginners classes are accepting newbies and trialists!

The big rush for newbies is always September, so get ahead of the waiting lists and book your trial today. You can try out up to two trial sessions before making a decision and see how you get on (though we're pretty certain your young person'll love it!).

At our Saturday Best School of Musical Theatre (unusually, both our 10am - 1pm and 1:30pm - 4:30pm classes currently have spaces available!), students aged 6 - 16 spend an hour each singing, dancing, and acting, led by family orientated industry professionals.

Meanwhile, students aged 3 - 6 learn through creative play at Best Beginners. Pick from either the 9:30am - 11am or 11:30am - 1pm class, both consist of 90 minutes of drama, movement, and music designed to encourage confidence.

We can't wait to welcome you (and everyone else!) tomorrow!

The Countdown's on! The Flare opens next weekend!

Ahead of it's explosive debut, a bit about how it came to be...

For 28 years, Tip of the Iceberg has been creating powerful, interactive projects that inspire, involve, and inform. In that time, the organisation has listened first hand to more than 1.5 million teenagers, capturing their unfiltered thoughts on relationships, mental health, technology, media, and politics in safe, creative, and non-judgemental spaces.

Now, in a world where digital influence is constant and often overwhelming, Tip of the Iceberg is responding with urgency. The need for meaningful, engaging mental health and relationship support has never been greater, and traditional approaches are no longer enough.

Recognising their unique position to bridge the widening gap between young people and the adults striving to support them, they commissioned a bold, new musical theatre production, developed in collaboration with young performers from Best Theatre Arts in Hertfordshire and guided by a professional playwright and composer.

What emerged is an authentic reflection of a generation growing up under the apocalyptic threats of climate change, exponentially developing technology, impending world war, and seemingly irreparable social division. Set against the backdrop of a catastrophic solar storm that wipes out technology, ‘The Flare’ is a gripping, funny, and poignant musical that forces its characters, and its audiences, to confront what remains when the digital world disappears...
