At last week's District Athletics Championships, Cerys has broken the district record for Year 10 Girls 100m with an outstanding time of 12.6 seconds.

Today we said goodbye to our Year 11 students at their Leavers' Assembly.

We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved during your time at Townsend School. Over the past few weeks, you have shown resilience, determination and maturity as you completed your exams, and you should all take a moment to recognise how far you have come.

As you begin your summer break, we hope you take the opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends. We wish you every success when your results are released in August and, whatever your next steps may be, we are confident that you have a bright future ahead of you.

🌍💚 Last week, our students proudly took part in Great Big Green Week, exploring how small actions can make a big difference to our environment.

Across form times and lessons, students engaged in a range of sustainability-focused activities including:
♻️ Designing anti-idling posters to encourage cleaner air around our school
🥗 Creating poems, raps, songs and fridge reminders to reduce food waste
🍎 Learning practical ways to save food and money through the "Freeze and Squeeze" challenge
🚗 Debating the impact of the school run and discussing whether School Streets could benefit our community
🌿 Investigating air quality through environmental studies and discussions about lichens and pollution

It has been fantastic to see such creativity, enthusiasm and commitment from our students as they considered ways to protect our planet and reduce their carbon footprint.

Together, we can all play our part in creating a greener future. 🌎

After a very tough day physically and mentally with torrential downpours a massive congratulations to all students who took part in their Bronze Qualifier Expedition they all passed this section. Well done you have achieved great things this weekend.
