🌼 **Welcome Spring at Ashbourne Day Nurseries – Bricket Wood!** 🐞

Spring has arrived and our little learners at **Ashbourne Day Nurseries, Bricket Wood** have been celebrating the new season with some wonderful hands-on activities!

Our **Spring Bug Garden Tuff Tray** sparked lots of curiosity as the children explored tiny insects, flowers, and natural materials. They loved discovering where bugs might hide, building mini gardens, and chatting about the signs of spring around us.

At our **Daffodil Play Dough Station**, the children got creative rolling, squashing, and shaping bright yellow play dough to make their own beautiful daffodils. This sensory activity helped develop fine motor skills while encouraging imagination and creativity.

It has been a joyful way to welcome the warmer days, blooming flowers, and busy bugs of spring! 🌱🌸

We can’t wait for more seasonal adventures together.

Happy World Book Day! 📚✨
Today at Ashbourne Day Nurseries – Bricket Wood, our team and children had a wonderful time celebrating the joy of books and storytelling. We love taking part in World Book Day as it gives us the opportunity to highlight just how important reading is in children’s early development.
At Ashbourne Day Nurseries – Bricket Wood, communication, language and a love of reading are at the heart of our curriculum. Through sharing stories, exploring books together and encouraging conversations, we support children to build vocabulary, develop their imagination and grow in confidence when expressing themselves.
Books play an important role in helping children understand the world around them, supporting their language development as well as their social and emotional skills. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed sharing stories, talking about their favourite books and celebrating the magic that reading brings. 📖
We love creating opportunities for children to develop a lifelong love of books and storytelling.

🧙‍♀️ Trick or Treat Stop!
This Halloween, we’ll have a special Trick or Treat Station set up just outside the nursery — filled with sweets and treats for all the local children to help themselves to while they’re out and about. 🍬🍭

🕔 Treats available from: 3:00pm–7:00pm on Friday 31st October

Pop by in your best costumes, say hello, and grab some goodies! 🎃

Halloween the children enjoyed dressing up and lots of activities

🎃 SPOOKY SAND 👻
The toddler room had so much fun with these Halloween sand sensory boxes! The little ones loved exploring the green and orange sand, digging up pumpkins and creepy crawlies with their fingers. It was such a fun way for them to play and develop their fine motor skills, and get into the Halloween spirit!
