Painting for Beginners is as much of a club as it is a course. As well as somewhere to learn about new techniques and ideas it’s also a fun, inspiring place for artists to get together. No matter what skill level you are, even if you have never picked up a brush, we will have you on your feet in no time. If you’re looking for a supportive, friendly, fun atmosphere then we’d love to see you. After
all, we all have the same goal, creating incredible artwork. Everyone has different artistic tastes, so whether you are an aspiring abstract expressionist, or interested in impressionist landscape painting, the foundation principles taught in each of the classes can be used whatever style you choose to paint in.
Every week Neil will guide you through a different painting topic, from colour mixing to compositions to light and shade. Meetings will start with a short introduction to that day’s topic from Neil, he’ll explain foundation principles, there’ll be a Q&A session and then you can start painting, exploring ad developing the ideas introduced. While you paint Neil will come around, speaking to everyone individually, discussing thoughts on the different topics and chatting about anything that could help with their creative goals. We hope that this course will develop a community of inspiring artists in St Agnes who help and support each other. In the future, with the skills and techniques explored, we aim to take the course out into our amazing county and capture its natural beauty in paint!
