Happy New Year you wonderful people 😍

I’m a little camera shy, and need to build up the courage to share action shots of the clothes I make , but in the meantime, this old, wonky kitchen door will be my body double … 😁

I fell in love with the pattern by , after seeing a few versions on Instagram, and when I discovered that the pattern was fully size inclusive, with both B and D cup versions up to bust size 60”, knew I had to give it a go. I opted for a size 7 D cup, which is a perfect fit for my UK size 18-20 body, and made this wearable toile from some linen fabric bought at on a special birthday trip to NYC over 10 years ago. But there’s no time limit on how long fabrics can can remain in a stash, right?!!

The ruffle neckline is a fabulous feature, but the sleeves are my favourite part of the design - the perfect length, and just the right amount of billowy loveliness, with an understated double tuck detail. I’ve already got a second version planned, and the only tweak I’ll make will be to add a couple of inches to the hem.

There’s something magical about wearing clothes that I’ve made - like giving myself a hug all day long 🥰

I love Margate and secretly dream of being able to spend some time living there one day. But until then I’m happy to find any excuse to visit. Todays trip was one of the best ‘excuses’ yet. The fabulous exhibition, Dresses for Giants by Thanks for taking the time to chat with us Shelly, the work and space look fabulous 😍

How are we half way through August already?! I’ve been a bit late in sending out details of the September workshops as I honestly didn’t realise how close to September we were 🤣😳😬😁
