🌋🧱 Volcano Island STEM Crisis at Sabden!

Our children in Swifts class recently had a visit from the Royal Air Force Youth Engagement Team, in which they tackled a series of LEGO STEM challenges linked to a natural disaster, putting their maths, science, technology and engineering skills into action.

Working in teams, they shared ideas, thought creatively and solved problems together - developing their communication skills along the way.

What a fantastic opportunity to embrace a challenge and show resilience! 👏

Our Doves Class children have been busy developing their understanding of place value by using concrete resources to represent numbers.

Using practical equipment helps children to really see the value of each digit and understand how numbers are made up of tens and ones. There was lots of fantastic mathematical thinking, careful counting and great discussion along the way!

We love seeing our children learning through practical, hands-on experiences and growing in confidence as mathematicians!

Well Done Doves!

From developing new skills and building confidence to working together as a team, there has been plenty of energy, enthusiasm and smiles along the way! 😊

A huge thank you to Mr Murphy for making our PE sessions so much fun and helping our children to challenge themselves, build resilience and enjoy being active.
