With only a few days of school left, we can't wait for our summer Wild & Free sessions!

Slow days exploring and playing in nature. Tiny chick snuggles, nature crafts, laughter and friendship.

We keep numbers small at Wild Isle. We like quality provision and ensuring every child gets the attention and support that they need.

Long summer days outdoors are just what the kids need. Let them be Wild & Free this summer with us at Wild Isle.

We're gathering with the Wild & Free gang throughout the summer this year too. If you've been looking for a sign to join the Wild Isle family, this is it!

Tuesday 11th, 18th & 25th August πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

Sessions are suitable for children aged 6+ and are based in Ryde.

With the summer holidays looming, we know that childminders are now thinking ahead to the autumn term. We are lucky enough to have now employed a wonderful new member of the team (intro post coming soon).

Ellie (how strange, we're creating an Elle/Ellie gathering haha) is excited to deliver Wild Isle sessions! We are looking to expand our offering and would love to give local childminders a group to share the love for the natural environment with their smalls!

We weren't able to offer anything before that worked for you all due to Elle's packed timetable with educational provision for school aged kiddies however with Ellie on the team we have more flexibility.

We would charge for these sessions per adult so if it is just you, you pay one attendance fee or if you've got an assistant you pay for them too. We feel that this is a more efficient way than pay per child - let us know what you think of this in the comments or a message please!

Which day of the week suits you all best? Ellie will be busy working alongside Elle on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

We have received some wonderful news...

Wild Isle has been named a finalist in The Class Business Awards for Adult Classes!

It felt like the perfect moment to bring Wild Women home. Following Elle being in the crash back in February, she has struggled to manage delivering the bare minimum with the commissioned educational provision having to take priority.

With the Wild Isle team continuing to grow, we have the capacity to get Wild Women back up and running.

If you've been waiting for these sessions to return, we'd love to welcome you back around the fire.

For the summer season only, we are trialing evenings around the fire πŸ”₯

This is something which I so clearly felt when teaching in Early Years. Other practitioners would try to discourage children from digging in the mud or playing in the puddles... One setting I was in even had astro turf installed because the grass was too muddy in the winter.

Is this risk assessing gone mad?

I am over the moon to see children ignore what I've planned and go straight to what they are interested in. If anything, that means my planning needed more thought because it didn't grasp their interest.

Wild Isle always has been a low set up space. Yes, there are things that are a part of the 'furniture' that exist within the provision but we'll never add too much each session.

This week at Wild & Free, the children gathered wild food for Groot (our tortoise). They were so excited to spot some ripe blackberries in sunny spots along the hedgerow so naturally we had to taste them! Interestingly, some of the blackberries had more of a tart taste than the others - we chatted about why this could be.

In two weeks, Groot turns 5! We will be making a tortoise cake with wild flowers, bind w**d and salad! We're throwing a full tortoise birthday party!

We'd love to welcome other children to join the fun!

We are still running our Β£15 for new customers offer with Wild & Free. You can claim this offer for two weeks. Head over to www.wildislenatureschool.co.uk to book your child's spot.

Well wow... Wild Isle is through to the finals of The Class Business Awards!

As an independent business up against hundreds of franchises, we couldn't be more proud!

It's an exciting time of year in the growing patch! During the week, Elle, Nic and Sophie have had all sorts of fun teaching the children about the great produce that is growing and the things that are ready to harvest.

Another local school have begun sending small groups to Wild Isle and with them we have learnt about the life cycle of strawberries and planted out some additional plants too. Elle got an absolute steal at Busy Bee with some old stock and one of the kiddies was just as excited as she was about the 'bargain 25p strawberry plants!'

Everyone that wanted to has tasted freshly picked raspberries too!

Tyler is doing some planning for the big growing bed - the chickens seem to get in and destroy everything planted in there no matter what we do to chicken proof it!

We're all set up and having fun this morning at the Newport and Carisbrooke Fayre. We're here until 4!
