Year 11 marked the end of their GCSE exams in style on Thursday evening, gathering at the front of school for photographs with parents before heading inside for mocktails and dinner. The evening continued with dancing, Twister, and ice creams — exactly the kind of send-off that a year of hard work deserves.

A sincere thank you to the prefect team, catering staff, IT department, gardening staff, and cleaners who worked together to make the evening run smoothly. Events like this do not happen without a lot of people putting in a great deal of effort behind the scenes.

To the Year 11 students heading off to pastures new: we wish you every success in whatever comes next. To those returning in September for A Levels, we look forward to starting that next chapter with you.

When the weather does not cooperate, Ruthin's Eco group finds a way to make the most of it.

With the elderflower trees on the school grounds in full bloom, students headed out to forage the flowers themselves before working together to make homemade elderflower cordial from scratch. It was a practical, seasonal activity that made excellent use of what the grounds had to offer. The results were well worth the effort.

Mr Lamprecht writes with mixed feelings about saying goodbye to the students of Goodman House at the end of this year, and it is easy to understand why.

"This year, the boys settled in well and quickly got stuck into everything that boarding life has to offer.

Throughout the year, they took part in a variety of activities organised by the house staff including a fire pit, New Year's celebrations and various craft activities. They also went on boarding trips and walks through the glorious Welsh countryside.

As a Houseparent, I have enjoyed this year in Goodman and will be sad to see many of these fine young men leave. I wish them well on their journey through life and I hope that they all stay in touch with Ruthin School, returning for the Old Ruthinian Day."

After a full week of internal exams and assessments, students finished the week the right way — out on the field for Sports Day.

There was plenty on offer, from the classic egg and spoon race to an obstacle course, football, and netball. After a cold and rainy week, the sun made a timely appearance, and everybody made the most of it. A well-earned afternoon for students and staff alike.

Some school traditions involve trophies. Ours involves marmalade!

On 30th June, the Annual Hillfort Run returns — one of Ruthin School's most loved summer traditions. Students and Staff race up the hills above the town in a test of stamina, grit and good humour, with a jar of marmalade waiting for the winner (and no, we're not joking!)

Year 8 student Aaradhya G represented Ruthin School at the regional Urdd Eisteddfod in Denbigh earlier this term, competing across the Art, Design and Technology categories at one of Wales' most prestigious cultural festivals.

She came away with first place in not one, but three disciplines: Fabric, 3D and Print Work.

We could not be prouder, Aaradhya.
