I've said it 1000 times but I love love love a moveable alphabet. It brings so much confidence with it for ALL ages. You cannot make a mistake with a movable alphabet, you just haven't finished yet.

In Super Scientists today we discovered how fossils are formed. Finding out that fossils are technically not bones BLEW the children’s minds! We then recreated the fossiliation process with a delicious layered pudding, completed a cutting and sticking activity and finished with drawing dinosaurs and fossils outside. 🦖🦕

I had an idea for one of my 1:1 learners this week and I’m a little bit obsessed with how it turned out 🥰

They’re dyslexic and know lots of their sounds but its the usual mix ups 'bs' for 'ds' etc. So rather than simply practising letters and sounds over and over, we started creating our own alphabet.

For each sound, they drew prompts that meant something to them.

And LOOK at it 😍

We’ve only started with a handful of sounds, but we’ll keep adding to it each week.

Hopefully its a different way into something they can find difficult.

Plus it's SO cute.

S is for squishy forever now!
