Two of our preschoolers enjoyed sitting together and sharing a story. They took turns looking at the pictures, talking about what they could see and listening to each other’s ideas. 🥰📖

Sharing books with friends is a wonderful way to support children’s communication and language development. It encourages them to listen, build their vocabulary, express their thoughts and develop confidence when speaking.

This lovely experience also supports social skills, turn-taking, cooperation, imagination and emotional development, while helping children to develop a love of books and storytelling. 🌟

📚✨ Happy International Literacy Day! ✨📚

Today in our Toddler Room, we’ve been celebrating the joy of early literacy through fun, hands-on learning experiences.

Our little learners explored copying patterns, helping to develop their early thinking, concentration, and pre-writing skills. We also enjoyed activities focused on strengthening our tripod grip—an important foundation for holding pencils confidently and supporting future writing.

Every mark, pattern, and grip is a big step towards becoming confident readers and writers. We are so proud of all the children for their enthusiasm and determination today! 💛

Our babies have been having lots of fun exploring their reflections! 👶🏼💛

Using mirrors, the children were encouraged to look closely at themselves, notice their facial expressions and movements, and explore the reflection staring back at them. 🥰

This simple activity supports our babies’ developing self-awareness, communication, curiosity and physical development, as they reach, move and respond to what they can see.

✂️🌟 Busy Little Hands at Work! 🌟✂️

Today our toddlers have been practising their scissor skills, developing confidence as they learned how to safely hold and use scissors. Cutting activities help to strengthen the small muscles in their hands, improve hand-eye coordination, and build the fine motor skills needed for future writing.

The children showed great concentration and determination as they carefully snipped and explored this new skill. We are so proud of all their efforts and love watching their confidence grow with every cut! 💛

🌲🎨 Pine Cone Printing Fun! 🎨🌲

Our preschoolers have been getting creative with pine cones, mark making and paint! 🖌️✨

The children explored how different pine cones could create different patterns, shapes and textures on paper. They experimented with colours, pressure and movement, discovering what marks they could make using a natural object in a new and exciting way. 🌈

🎯 Learning Intention:
To encourage children to explore mark making, patterns, textures and colour while developing their creativity and fine motor skills.

This hands-on activity also supported hand-eye coordination, concentration, sensory exploration and problem-solving, as the children experimented with how to use the pine cones to create their own unique artwork. 🌿💚

Today we celebrated National Read a Book Day by sharing the joy of reading together! There is nothing quite like snuggling up with a good book, and our toddlers loved exploring stories with their friends.

In this lovely moment, two friends are enjoying a book together, building their language, imagination, and early literacy skills while sharing smiles and conversation. Reading together also helps to develop friendships, turn-taking, and a lifelong love of books.

Our babies have been enjoying exploring our train-themed small world! 👶🏼✨

The children had lots of fun moving the trains along the tracks, exploring the different textures and discovering where their little trains could travel. 🚂🛤️

This experience encouraged the babies to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving and early communication skills, while enjoying lots of opportunities for imaginative play. 👐🏼💭

💛 Friendship Month in our Baby Room! 🐻🌈

This month, our babies have been exploring what it means to be a good friend through lots of fun, age-appropriate activities and everyday interactions. 🥰

From sharing smiles and giggles to playing alongside one another, taking turns and offering cuddles and comfort, our babies are beginning to develop those beautiful early friendships. 👶🏼💕

We’ve been encouraging the children to notice their friends, show kindness and enjoy being together. Even the smallest moments — a shared toy, a helping hand or a big smile — are wonderful first steps towards building positive relationships. 🌟

We’re so proud to watch our little friendships grow! 🌱💛
