🍎IMPORTANT CHANGES - More families may now be eligible for free school meals

Recent changes to free school meal eligibility mean that more families receiving Universal Credit may now qualify for support.

✅ If you've never applied before, check whether you're eligible and submit an application

✅ If you applied before 1 July 2026, please submit a new application to ensure your child is assessed under the current eligibility criteria

✅ If you applied on or after 1 July 2026, your application is being processed and you do not need to apply again

Due to a significant increase in applications, processing times are currently longer than usual. Our team is working hard to process all outstanding applications and aims to complete them before the start of the new school year in September. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you to our Friends of Whitefriars and Mr Rainford for organising the discos for the children yesterday - much fun was had!

And a huge thanks to Becca Pass for all the time and effort she has put in over the years in running our PTA. Best wishes and good luck from all of us at Whitefriars.

The children had a really enjoyable time on Friday afternoon at our Summer Fayre. Lots of home-made items were bought, many games were played and lots of fun was had!

Year 4 enjoyed their outdoor workshop, building beaver dams and identifying different species of bugs. They all loved the hands-on learning, exploration, and discovering the wonders of nature! 🌿🐞

Thank you for your patience this morning - the fire alarm went off. Everyone left the building safely, quickly and calmly. The cause was the cooker in the kitchen getting too hot so a false alarm!
