Another 4 figure payout from PRS today -£14.89! They were on the phone yesterday, as it happens, chatting about our PRS licence for the next amazing gig at the Shoefactory. If you hadn't heard already, here are the details: Get ready for a great night of swinging jazz! New York tenor saxophonist Gideon Tazelaar will be appearing at the Shoefactory on Saturday October 26th with bassist Arnie Somogyi, singer Andra Sparks, pianist Nick Weldon and drummer Felix Weldon. Nikki Iles, award winning pianist and composer, brings her superb 18 piece Jazz Orchestra to The Y Theatre, Leicester on Thursday 20th June 2024. Winner of the Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Ensemble in 2020, the band is made up of some of the biggest names on the contemporary British jazz scene and will play some of Nikki’s original compositions and arrangements.

Great weekend - our second of the season - on Saturday three groups looking at Along Came Betty Keep Me in Mind and Smatta - on Sunday one group on One For Amos Triste and Time On My Hands and another working on accompaniment skills with Andra Sparks on Monk’s Dream Everybody’s Song But My Own and The Masquerade Is Over. Lovely tunes and great input from our guest tutors Mick Foster Arnie Somogyi and Dominic Ashworth. Well played everyone!
