Play Away Day Nursery opened Beech wood Play Away on the 22nd September 1993 and then opened Play Away Langdale Road in July 2001. We pride ourselves as being an outstanding nursery and have over 56 staff who are fully qualified with most working with us for several years. At the centre of our philosophy is the desire that you can leave your baby or child with us happy in the knowledge that they will be loved and cared for as you would wish.

🐅 The Tiger who came for tea 🐅

Yesterday in Jelly Tots a tiger really did come for tea!!

We focused all our activities on the tiger who came for tea book, we started the day with a tiger tuff tray with coloured rice and lentils which the children really enjoyed playing in.
We then made our own tiger masks by colouring them in and putting them on lollipop sticks.

We even made tiger biscuits by decorating biscuits with orange and black icing, all the children did very good listening and concentrated.

In the afternoon we thought we would have a picnic like in the book, so we made our own sandwiches. All the children had 2 pieces of bread and a knife and they all spread their cheese on by themselves!

And to end the day we sat down to have our tea and a very special guest come to visit, he even brought our teacher Laura a birthday cake with candles and we all sang happy birthday! The Jelly Tots were very excited and the cheeky tiger tried to eat some of our tea and drink out of our cups! Some of the Jelly Tots wanted a picture too! 🐅

Chia seed play ☺️ Our 1-2s had the most exciting time exploring chia seeds with the dinosaurs today! The children all got stuck in and loved making the dinosaurs stomp! We spoke about how it felt like slimy and the children all copied!

The 1-2's have been exploring new foods in the room , to do with are kitchen area ,
We got some melon , pears , oranges , kiwi, strawberries cut them all up and we all had a try ,
The 1-2's loved trying all the fruit , we made fruit kebabs to eat for are snack 😋

Well done everyone we have really enjoyed trying are different fruit , we have all been super stars , 😋🤩⭐

What a day the 1-2's have had !!! A very good productive cooking day 🙂
We was all very clever that we made are own snack for when we have woken up ,

They are looking at all different foods we can try and test in our room , so the chefs got together to make
Cheese and broccoli crisps
Apple donuts
Kiwi surprise

All the class looked at the broccoli 🥦 before it was cooked and we smelt it too , we then used are fine motor skills to hold the knife with Rachael to cut the broccoli 🥦, adding it to the pan . Rachael took that to be cooked .
When it was done we smashed the broccoli 🥦 with a spoon and then adding cheese ready for the oven ,

Whilst that was doing , we cut up some apples 🍎 makin them like donuts and kiwi 🥝 we all did extra good with waiting for are turn to drizzle chocolate over the top , we then added sprinkles,

After are sleep we all sat down together to get are very own snack the little chefs made ,
All the children loved everything we made and eat it all up ,

Well done my little 1-2 chefs 🍎🥝🥦🙂⭐ we have had a fabulous day ⭐🙂
