Our final day in Sicily!

Spent the day exploring Messina, a city largely rebuilt following the devastating earthquake and tsunami of 28 December 1908, which claimed around 80,000 lives across the region. Incredible to see how the city rose again from such devastation.

Then, a little taste of home with a pit stop at an Italian KFC before heading to the beautiful Tindari Lakes for some well-deserved chilling by the sea.

A perfect mix of history, food and relaxation to round off our Sicilian adventure!

What an incredible day of adventure in Sicily! 🇮🇹

We started with a cable car ride to 2500 m followed by a thrilling 4x4 drive up to 3,000m on Mount Etna, where we walked around the crater formed during the 2002 eruption. The views were absolutely spectacular, and it was amazing to see the power of tectonics up close!

Next, we headed to the beautiful Alcantara Gorge, where we walked through its icy glacial waters, surrounded by dramatic rock formations created by ancient lava flows thousands of years ago. A refreshing dip of the feet was just what we needed!

We finished the day with a stroll along Letojanni Beach, enjoying the beautiful Sicilian coastline.

FAO parents/carers of Year 7 pupils

We are extremely sorry, but due to a number of staff absences caused by the illness that is currently circulating, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Meet the Form Tutor event for year 7 families.
The meeting will now take place on 17th November at 3.15pm.
We sincerely apologise for the short notice. We want to ensure that all families attending have the opportunity to meet not only form tutors but also the relevant support and senior staff who play an important role in supporting our students. Unfortunately, with the current level of staff absence, we would not be able to offer the experience we would like.
We understand that this may cause inconvenience, and we are truly sorry for any disruption this change may cause. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you on 17th November.

What a day in the Aeolian Islands! 🇮🇹 We battled a bit of seasickness before stepping back in time to explore the ancient streets of Lipari, marvelled at the spectacular coastal scenery, and finished the day with our feet in the famous black sands of Vulcano!

And the icing on the cake? A stunning view of Stromboli, puffing away in the distance! 🌋

A day of adventure, discovery, a few wobbly stomachs and memories to last a lifetime! 💙✨ # Sicily
