"Thank you for being here"

5 words quietly spoken by one of our customers today in our Community Pantry as she went to leave.

5 words that took nothing away from her for saying, but put a lump in the throat of every member of staff in earshot.

You see, it takes so much to keep our pantry on each week. Hours upon hours of planning, sourcing, driving, organising, lifting. Blood, sweat and tears behind the scenes each week to provide a consistent, reliable and sustainable source of food for local families.

We never ask for thanks, we do it each week and we do it with so much pride, knowing that it is really helping our local communities.

But still, when someone says "Thank you for being here"... my goodness does it make it all worthwhile. 💙
