So…. Over the past few months I have been swamped with messages from parents asking if I could tutor their child ready for their exams. Unfortunately I did not have any free slots.
However, as I AM SICK AND TIRED of mediocre so called maths tutors charging hard working people from £40-£70 per hour AND as 99% of these “tutors” are not only very under-qualified but also wouldn’t know real mathematics or it’s concepts if it hit them in the face.
SO….. I have decided that from September I will be holding hour long group tutoring sessions £20 in local community centres year 7-9 and the following hour years 10-11.

I hold advanced degrees in mathematics and as such I am a certified mathematician, I worked as a scientist/mathematician for several years before obtaining a PGDE (post graduate diploma in education) with qualified teacher status and a masters degree in education. I hold a full and enhanced DBS and I am on the update service. I have taught in several schools and currently I am head of mathematics within a college. I have had numerous schools within runcorn approach me to ask if I would consider coming into their schools to tutor their higher level learners to achieve a grade 9 as most schools in the area do not have any Maths subject specialists.

I have taken my maths department from 2nd lowest in its region to being the highest performing in regard to results/grades/qualifications, and as such my classes now have a 6 week waiting list!
My teaching approach is from a relation perspective so instead of teaching HOW to do something I teach WHY you do it! The results speak for themselves.
