As some of you may be aware, lots of schools are opening nurseries in order for them to help them survive. Although we understand their position, many of them are in this position due to falling numbers; we would also like to share our views on this.
This is coming from an outstanding-graded nursery twice, with any previous inspections going back over 30 years having been good with outstanding features, with mostly the same staff. This is unique, which says a lot about the continuing dedication of our team.

Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) nurseries offer a range of benefits that can differ from those of a structured primary school nursery. PVI nurseries often provide a more flexible, child-centred approach to learning, with greater opportunities for play-based experiences that are tailored to each child's individual interests, needs and stage of development. They typically have strong links with families and the local community, enabling practitioners to build close relationships with children and parents, which supports children's emotional wellbeing and confidence. PVI settings may also offer greater flexibility in attendance patterns.
While primary school nurseries can provide a straight transition into formal education, PVI nurseries often place greater emphasis on nurturing independence, creativity and social development through a holistic approach that recognises every child as a unique learner
