As promised, Budding Bakers will be back at Sandymoor Community Hall next month!

*Learning baking methods
*Following a recipe
*Improving independence and confidence

That's Three Bears clocking off for the summer! ⏰️ I'll be back baking in September and yes, Budding Bakers will be returning too! 👩‍🍳

I got this lovely card off one of my school bakers this afternoon and the feeling is mutual...thank you all for your support and custom.

Lots of yummy fun making cookies in our school clubs this week! 🍪

The children measured out their ingredients, practised the creaming in method🥣 and cracked their eggs🥚. After that it was hands on 👐 squishing our ingredients together to make one big piece of cookie dough. We then divided it up to make 8 delicious cookies 😋

This week we've been making Mini Jam Puds in our clubs! 🍮🍮🍮

The children have been great - cracking their eggs, measuring their ingredients and mixing them all in 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳🥣. We filled the bottoms of our cases with jam and spooned the sponge mixture on top ☺️🙌

These cakes are yummy still warm with ice cream or custard 😋

As with most of our recipes, and especially in this heat 🥵, if you're not cooking them straight away, pop them in the fridge!

My goodness, it's been a hot one this week! 🥵

We've been making Chocolate Marble Loaf Cakes in our school clubs and with Moore Village Preschool. The children have all been brilliant and getting stuck in...despite the heat! Nothing keeps us away from chocolatey, cakey yumminess! 😋💪🤭

We have been making Soda Bread this week in our After School Cookery Classes 🥰

The children learnt about:
🍞the difference between yeasted bread & soda bread.
🍞how the soda bread rises.
🍞practising our kneading skills, though it doesn’t need much kneading.

We had a lovely time this morning making scrumptious Blueberry and White Chocolate Muffins with our Budding Bakers! 🧁🫐😋

The children creamed together their butter and sugar, cracked eggs and folded in their flour, chocolate chips and blueberries before carefully filling their muffin cases👩‍🍳👨‍🍳. There was also a fair bit of taste-testing ...it'd be rude not to! 🤭

We've been making Cherry Buns in our After School Cookery Clubs this week (with a few sneaky chocolate chips!) 😋

The children have been practising rubbing in the butter and the flour to make breadcrumbs and then bringing it together with some milk to form a dough. Our Cherry Buns are perfect served with some clotted cream!

Our Top Tips:
🤩 Pop them in the fridge until you are ready to bake them.
🤩 Pre-heat the oven before you put them in.
🤩 Once cooled keep in an air-tight container.
🤩 Freshly baked goodies are best eaten within 24 hours.
