You all know I’m an avid supporter of Mental Health charities (given my pre:Childminding career).

One of my lovely families is undertaking a 24hr football match to raise funds for Sean’s Place…take a look 👀 https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sthelens-24hourff

If you could offer any support (even a £1) know that it does make a difference to smaller charities ☺️

Good Luck lads!! 🍀

Iʼm raising money to support Seans Place. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.

Finally… at last I can share with you all!! I’ve been keeping a secret 🤫😂

🥳 I’m so unbelievably proud of myself 🥳

It’s never easy having someone come in to your home, evaluating your whole life and practice under a microscope over the course of several hours and make a judgement on you (yes it feels personal!).

But: they came, they saw and they graded ☺️

What have we been doing this week during the glorious weather?…. learning about water safety.

It’s never too early to teach your little ones basic rules around water and we started with these:

No running near the water (it could be slippy and you could fall in)
No going in the water without your grown up (regardless of wearing armbands/floatation aids)

We also shared some advice to our grown ups regarding swim suits

Last week was child safety week. Now, we are not trying to teach Granny how to suck eggs here, we’d just like to share a few important safety points with you.

For all those who were deeply invested….🥳🐷 Congratulations Mummy Pig! 🥳 🐷

This week we have been remembering all the brave people who sacrificed themselves in the name of freedom.

We will forever be thankful for your service 🥺

(Still playing catch up so bear with me)

So, pt 4 of what you do with new starters: throw them in the mix with the other crazy crew of course 🤷‍♀️😂😂😂

No seriously: we integrate our new ones with the other children from the off. Intergenerational play is massively important (not only for the younger ones but older ones as well). There are so many learning opportunities for each age group when playing together and this half term was no exception.

We’ve done pumpkin trails, haunted priory visits, pumpkin picking, themed craft activities all of which was packed with hands on learning opportunities (🤫 we don’t tell the kids though 😉😂)

Embrace the child’s interest: Baby shark 🦈🙄😂 go on then

The Blue Planet Aquarium was amazing! I have to confess though: I’m still not a fan of sharks! They scare me to death!! You’re on you’re own with this one kiddo 😂😂😂

What do you do with new starters? Pt2

Take them to visit the animals:

Who doesn’t love looking at animals learning their names and animal sounds that can be related to in play or stories.

Trust me when I say the monkeys and lions are by a mile our favourite sounds so far 😂😂😂 if you know, you know! 😉😂
