Number Chase

Number Chase Get started, creating magic maths moments for your child. Here’s a problem with learning maths: No child wants to find crosses on their work.

I'm an experienced teacher- a neurodivergence specialist sharing this fundamental from Education research -Maths learning will be easier for your child if you teach them Maths can be Fun. I’m a mathematician, an experienced classroom teacher, passionate about making maths understandable for every learner. I was privileged to work for the later part of my teaching career in a UK special school with

young learners with different neurodivergent diagnoses. Working with individuals and small groups I gained experience of maths teaching much closer to the learning. A desperate plea “I wish I knew how to help my son with maths”, came from the parent of an adopted child with drug related complex learning needs and I wanted to help. What evolved though, a website stuffed with activities that encourage playful discovery maths learning, has proven to be super helpful to all young learners -I want to share it with every parent and grandparent. In which subject do you see the most crosses? And so the reality is that particularly in maths lessons young children soon know they are being tested, judged and compared. Then hey ho it’s very understandable that so many children think they are rubbish at maths and/or have anxiety around maths. So here’s the idea, parents and grandparents do a great job helping their kids to read, they can share a few moments of quality time, at home where a child is relaxed and offer a less pressured, most valuable experience precisely because they’re not teachers. Now Number Chase wants to support every parent and grandparent to share magic moments of maths learning in the same way. Lots of you have had a rubbish experience of maths at school BUT I’m hoping that we can join together, share experiences, and revolutionise the maths culture because every child deserves to know that they can be good at maths. Join me on facebook, on the website www.numberchase.co.uk, please tell your friends: Make maths at home = FUN for everyone.
