🐾 Skye clearly brought out something special in our Pets As Therapy sessions! 🐾

Seeing Skye the therapy dog after a few weeks brought a surge of excitement and engagement for both learners and staff in Apple and Pear class yesterday.

✨The learners definitely enjoyed tactile interactions like petting and stroking with their hands and feet. This provides sensory feedback and research has shown can increases mood-boosting chemicals like oxytocin. ✨

Today our learners took part in an exciting Whole School Careers Carousel, where they explored a variety of careers through hands-on activities.
Throughout the day, learners had the chance to:
🚚 Try a lorry driving simulator.
🧱 Take part in construction activities, including building their own walls.
📦 Learn about the logistics behind online shopping, packing and preparing items like those sent from Amazon.
👷 Explore a range of other career-related experiences with professionals.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to discover different industries, develop practical skills, and start thinking about their future careers.

📢 Red Nose Day – Friday 20th March

Friday 20th March is Red Nose Day, and we would love our students to join in the fun. Learners are invited to come to school wearing red to help us mark the day and raise awareness for this important charity event.

We are delighted to announce that we are introducing a new member to our school community. Skye, a certified Pets As Therapy (PAT) dog, will be joining us to provide therapeutic support and companionship to our pupils.

Skye will be visiting some of our classes every Tuesday afternoon for dedicated sessions. These visits are designed to promote emotional wellbeing, boost confidence, and provide a calming presence within the learning environment.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact Skye will have with our learners.

Brooke School is proud to support Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 10th February. This year’s theme is ‘Smart tech, safe choices – exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.’

To ensure the day is accessible to everyone, our learners will participate in a variety of differentiated activities designed to help them understand and experience Artificial Intelligence safely.

Australia and Egypt Class have had an amazing time watching The BFG at the RSC in Stratford! 🎭✨ The performance was fantastic and the learners loved every minute of the experience.

A huge thank you to all the staff who stayed late and helped make the trip happen.🌟
