☀️ Keeping Cool at Home This Summer ☀️

With the warmer weather continuing, here are some simple ways to help your child stay cool at home:

💦 Water play with buckets, sprinklers, paddling pools or spray bottles
🧊 Ice play – freeze toys in ice and have fun rescuing them
🎨 Ice painting with frozen coloured water
🌳 Spend time in shaded outdoor areas where possible
🥤 Encourage regular drinks throughout the day
🍉 Enjoy cool snacks such as fruit, smoothies or ice lollies

Most importantly, keep an eye on how your child is feeling and take regular breaks to cool down and stay hydrated.

☀️ Hot Weather Reminder ☀️

With the warm weather continuing, please ensure your child comes to school with:

💧 A named water bottle
🧴 Sunscreen applied before school
🧢 A sun hat
👕 Spare clothes for water play

💦 Water play activities will be available to help pupils stay cool and enjoy the sunshine safely.

Our staff will closely monitor pupils throughout the day, ensuring they stay hydrated, comfortable, and safe in the warmer temperatures. We will also use shaded areas where possible and adapt activities during the hottest parts of the day.

✨ First Week Back After Half Term! ✨
We’ve had a fantastic first week back at school and it’s been so lovely to see everyone settle back into routines so happily 😊
The week has been full of fun and learning, with lots of exciting activities including:
🌈 Sensory play – exploring different textures and materials
🧵 Threading activities to support fine motor skills and concentration
✏️ Letter formation practice – building confidence with writing
🎶 Music sessions – lots of singing, rhythm, and joy!
It’s been wonderful to see the children engaged, curious, and enjoying their learning in so many different ways 💛
We’re looking forward to another great half term ahead!

We’ve had a lovely half term full of reading, independent learning, and fun! Pupils have been exploring numbers and early reading skills, getting creative with paint, and enjoying sensory play.
The photos show hands-on learning in action — from messy mark-making at the creative table, to number matching activities, and outdoor music exploration using our sound wall.

🌼 Easter Week in Class! 🌼
We’ve had a lovely week full of Easter fun, music, movement and sensory play. The children enjoyed exploring bubbles, oobleck, Easter-themed trays and joining in with lots of action songs and dancing.
Our songs of the week were:
🎵 Stomp to the Beat
🎵 Easter Bunny Dance & Freeze
🎵 This Is The Way the Bunny Hops
🎵 B-U-N-N-Y
We also shared our sensory story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and ended the day with Zog.

🌟 This week, the children at Willow Park School enjoyed a fantastic visit to Hatton Country World! 🌟
They had an amazing time exploring the animals, having fun in the play areas, and even got to enjoy some gentle cuddles while petting the guinea pigs. 🐾🐹💛
It was a brilliant day full of smiles, fresh air, and lots of excitement. A wonderful experience for everyone! 🌿😊

🌟 A Wonderful Week of Learning at Willow Park School! 🌟
Last week was full of colour, creativity and curious minds at work! 🎨
Our children enjoyed lots of painting, experimented with different shapes, and had great fun scooping and exploring through play. It was fantastic to see everyone so engaged and proud of their achievements.
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our open afternoon. 💛
Your support means so much, and the children absolutely loved sharing their learning with you.
