It may be half term, but here is an activity that was inspired by the wonderful autumn leaves that are falling all around us. π π π³
Honeypot children used leaves to paint and print π¨ . They went on a leaf hunt at playtime and brought back leaves that varied in colour, size and texture. We had a detailed discussion about the names of the trees and which leaves belonged to which tree, and we also spoke about the colours we could see as well as the intricate detail that is on each leaf.
After some in-depth conversation, the children decided to use paint and create printed patterns. This developed into painting the leaves with the intention to create a hanging autumn mobile once they were dry.
We are really looking forward to continuing our learning about autumn when we get back to school and we go on to introduce the new topic of Festivals and Celebrations. We will learn all about autumn, Bonfire Night, Remebrance Day, Diwali and, as the seasons change to winter, we will learn about Christmas πβοΈ βοΈ
Have a wonderful half term! β¨
