Our Reception pupils have been developing their early coding and problem-solving skills using the Sphero Indi cars.

Using colourful tiles, the pupils worked together to plan routes for their cars to travel around the carpet. As the Indi cars sensed each colour, they reacted in different ways, bringing the pupils coding instructions to life!

It was wonderful to see the pupils experimenting, solving problems and learning through play — with plenty of fun along the way! 🚗✨

🌳 Run or Ramble 2026

One of Rose Hill School’s much-loved sporting traditions returned this year with another fantastic Run or Ramble!

Our pupils had the choice to challenge themselves on the School’s cross-country course or enjoy a more leisurely ramble, making the most of the outdoors and spending time with friends.

For those taking on the run, every lap was an opportunity to show determination, resilience and house spirit, with valuable points being earned along the way.
A huge thank you to all the families who came along to cheer on our pupils and support the event.

A huge well done to all of our pupils who took part! From running every lap to enjoying a peaceful ramble, everyone showed great determination, resilience and house spirit. It was wonderful to see pupils challenging themselves, supporting one another and enjoying the great outdoors together.

🚀 Exploring Mars in ICT!

Today, Year 5 have been exploring Mars in their computing lesson using iPads, coding their very own ‘rover’ to navigate the Martian surface and collect rock samples.

To successfully reach each rock, pupils have had to think carefully about direction, angles and movement, developing their coding skills while solving problems along the way.

They have also discovered how scientists study rocks from Mars to learn more about what the planet was like billions of years ago — and how some rocks may even hold evidence of microbial life.

A fantastic opportunity to combine coding, problem-solving and curiosity about our universe!

We are back!

We hope our pupils, parents and staff have all had a lovely summer and enjoyed a chance to slow down, spend time together and make some special memories.

It is wonderful to have everyone back at Rose Hill School, catching up with friends, settling into new routines and getting ready for the year ahead.
