Are your children joining the Colour Run
tomorrow?
Here's what to be aware of!!
Colour runs can be loads of fun - bright colours, big smiles, and lots of energy! But before your child dashes through a rainbow, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Potential Risks to Be Aware Of:
Eye Irritation
The coloured powders can cause redness or discomfort if they get into the eyes - especially for kids who rub their faces a lot!
Breathing Issues
Powder in the air = not so great for little lungs. Kids with asthma or respiratory sensitivity might be affected.
Skin Sensitivities
Though it's cornstarch-based, powders may contain dyes that can irritate sensitive skin.
Stained Clothes (and Shoes...and hair...)
That "temporary" colour? Sometimes, it lingers. Be prepared for stained clothing, shoes, and even car seats.
Tips to Stay Safe:
๐ฅฝ ๐ Wear goggles or sunglasses to protect little!
Use a bandana or mask to cover the nose and
mouth if vour child has respiratorv issues. ๐ท
Dress in old clothes (white is fun... but they won't
stay white!) โฌ๏ธ
Rinse off ASAP after the event ๐ฟ
Let your kids enjoy the fun - just make sure you're prepped for the cleanup (and the sneezes).
๐ท๏ธ The powder we use is made from ground maize (cornflour) and cosmetic dyes. They are gluten-free and vegan friendly. Parents should always check prior to allowing their children to take part as the powder is made from very fine powders.๐ท๏ธ
Stay safe & colourful! ๐
