Yesterday I stood on the TEDx stage Yesterday I stepped onto the TEDx stage.
Not as an accountant.
Not as a coach.
But as someone who finally told the truth about something many of us quietly carry.
For years, I thought I was bad with money.
And like many people, I tried to fix it with what the world tells us to do:
more discipline, better strategies, smarter financial frameworks.
But something never changed.
During my talk I shared a story from my childhood that shaped my relationship with money in ways I didnāt understand for decades.
And after the talk something extraordinary happened.
Two women came up to me in tears.
They said, āYour story is my story.ā
And in that moment I realised something.
If a talk can touch the heart of even two peopleā¦
If it can help someone see their financial struggles through a new lensā¦
Then the purpose of that talk is fulfilled.
Because the truth is this:
Most people are not stuck with money because they lack information.
We live in a world full of advice, strategies, courses and financial frameworks.
People beat themselves up for not following them.
They think something is wrong with their discipline, their intelligence or their ability to act.
But often the real reason is much deeper.
Itās subconscious emotional loyalty.
Loyalty to old patterns.
Loyalty to roles we learned early in life.
Loyalty to the people and environments that shaped us.
Until that loyalty becomes conscious, the pattern keeps repeating again and again ā not to punish us, but to keep us where it once felt safe.
Yesterday wasnāt just a talk about money.
It was a conversation about the invisible forces behind our financial decisions.
And if even a few people walked away seeing their story differentlyā¦
Then stepping onto that red circle was worth every second.
