Ofsted Regulatory Visit – A Positive Update for Parents.

We are pleased to share some positive news following an Ofsted regulatory visit that took place today.

We were delighted that Ofsted was very happy with what they saw and heard during their visit. They spoke with our senior leaders, middle leaders, practitioners and apprentices about a wide range of areas, including staff recruitment and deployment, key person arrangements, communication with parents, children’s learning and development, dietary requirements, accident recording and our wider safeguarding and care practices.

A particular highlight was the positive feedback about our staff’s knowledge of the children in their care and their understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ofsted recognised that our staff are well supported through thorough induction, training and ongoing professional development, and that they were able to demonstrate strong knowledge of both the children and the expectations of their roles.

They also commented positively on our policies and procedures, describing them as robust, and noted the clear link between our managers, staff and the procedures we have in place. This is really important to us, as we want parents to feel confident that their children are being cared for by a knowledgeable, well-supported and committed team.

We are incredibly proud of all our staff. They remained calm and professional throughout the visit and demonstrated the care, dedication and passion they have for the children every day.

Most importantly, we are pleased that Ofsted recognised what we see every day: a team who know your children well, understand their individual needs and are committed to providing them with a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which they can learn and thrive.

Please ensure you are familiar with our extreme weather policy and provide your little one with suitable clothing, hats, sun cream etc.

We will ensure:

Children have frequent access to drinking water.

Shade is provided and limit time in direct sun, particularly at peak times.

We encourage sun hats.

We apply high-factor sunscreen (please send your child to nursery with it already applied and with a bottle of suncream labelled with their name).

We avoid vigorous physical activity in the heat.

Indoor spaces are kept as cool as possible (e.g. ventilation, blinds/curtains). We do not have air conditioning to keep rooms cool.

We are vigilant for signs of heat stress or dehydration.

The children have LOVED having Milo visiting the nursery. They have been so kind and gentle with him and have loved racing him up and down the garden! I’m sure the children would love him to come again!
