Polebrook CE Primary School

On the last Friday before half term, the children (and even some parents!) had a fabulous time at the Bubble Blast Colour Dash.

On one of the hottest days, the children enjoyed bubbles, colour and cooled down by water!

This was a great colourful event bringing together the school community having lots of fun whilst raising money for a truly special children’s charity, Lifting Children’s Hopes.

Through our partnership with LCH, our school’s children and families directly benefit from the vital support they provide. Their work helps bring comfort, care and hope to children when they need it most, while also supporting thousands of children and families across our wider community.

Thank you for all your generous sponsorship, we are waiting to hear the total raised.

Just before half term, Polebrook children celebrated May Day with their traditional maypole dancing.

The children all looked really smart in their outfits and the whole afternoon was a huge success. Even the sun was shining!

On the Friday, the whole school walked to the war memorial to lay the flowers.

A huge thanks to everyone involved in the organisation, our wonderful FOPS friends of polebrook school for the catering and the children from DA class for donating cakes and the Year 5 children for making and selling lemonade.

A special thanks for the flower donations and for the amazing volunteers who created such wonderful displays. We could not have done it without you!

MLK class took part in the "Mini London Marathon 2026 in Schools".

This involved us completing 34 laps of our track which equates to 2 miles of running or walking. In assembly today we were presented with our trophy!

One student said, "There were times when we wanted to give up but we supported each other and together we all completed it!"

To conclude the STEM sessions Year 5 have been having at Oundle School, they had an extended visit using microscopes.

They were fascinated at what they could see through the microscope such as animal fur and plants.

They created scientific drawings based on their findings.

Looking at the inside of their cheek through a scraping was the most exciting part of the session.
