On Friday we will be showing our support to DLD raising awareness by wearing their colours purple and/or yellow. DLD - developmental language disorder is a lifelong, common neurodevelopmental condition that causes persistent difficulties in understanding and using spoken language. Throughout the day we will be taking part in purple and yellow activities and Apple Tree Nursery will light up purple for this special day! 💜💛

Yesterday, Ada’s “Auntie Gill” came along to nursery to share a spooky Halloween story with us, Christopher Pumpkin📚🎃

After enjoying the story, Gillian surprised the children with some Halloween messy play! She and Ada sprayed foam onto the children’s mats and added some orange paint, giving everyone the chance to get creative and use their fingers to paint their very own foam pumpkins🎨

Thank you Gillian ⭐️

At Apple Tree Nursery we value parental partnership 🤝
Thank-you to Maia’s mummy Chloe who took us for a swimming lesson this afternoon.
The children built confidence in the water whilst having “so much fun” 💦
Live Argyll offer swimming lessons to children from aged 3 onwards who join their ‘Learn to swim programme’ 🏊‍♀️

Be inspired by the toddlers on your Autumnal walks this weekend. Discover a stick, twig or small branch and let that be the centrepiece for your journey, collecting fallen leaves and petals and threading them onto the stick creating your very own nature ‘kebab’ 🍂🍁🌺

“When children experience changes in the seasons and the weather, they gain knowledge and develop a sense of belonging which helps them to connect more deeply to their place in the world.”
A Froebelian approach - Re-engaging with nature.

Let us know in the comments where your favourite nature walk is on the island and share your nature ‘kebabs’ with a photo too! We look forward to seeing what you all discover on your walks!

🌟 PATHS Child of the Week! 🌟
Each week, one of our children is chosen to receive compliments from their friends and staff💛
Through our PATHS sessions with Twiggle and friends 🐢 we’re learning how kind words can make others feel happy, valued and confident, while helping us recognise the wonderful things about each other. 🥰🌈
Our PATHS child today was Violet 🌟
