Calling All Aspiring Coaches! Join NovaCity’s Student Teacher Programme 2026!

Are you passionate about parkour, dance, or coaching? Do you want to develop leadership skills and make a difference in your community? We are thrilled to announce the return of the NovaCity Student Teacher Programme for anyone that's 14+.

Our 6-month voluntary programme is designed to help you transition from training to teaching. Gaining real-world experience across different ages and skill levels, you will build confidence, learn clear communication, and understand the fundamentals of safety and class planning.

You will receive dedicated mentorship from our expert coaches and work towards key milestones in observation, assisting, planning, and leading. Plus, all skills learned are transferable and will support your future education and career path.

FREE ACTIVITIES AT NOVACITY THIS OCTOBER HOLIDAY.

We have secured funding to put on extra places during this holiday.

Barnsley HAF funding (100% sold out) - If you are in receipt of free school dinners and have a code, you are eligible to join our waitlist. Places are limited, but we want to show demand for next time to deliver more places.

Rotherham Adventure, Food, and Fun Holiday Club. Free places to attend our holiday club, 10 am - 2 pm. We are opening up to HAF recipients first, so if you have attended HAF clubs at Rotherham before, this is your chance to access this activity. Limited Spaces - Must be a Rotherham resident. RMBC are also producing a brochure and will be in contact if you are eligible.

We’re looking for the right people to join our team at NovaCity Alternative Provision.

We are currently looking for Teaching Assistants and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants, with both part-time and full-time positions available.

If you have experience working with children and young people from EYFS through to Key Stage 4, and you’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping young people who may need a little more support, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re particularly interested in people who have experience with:

• SEND
• SEMH
• Trauma-informed practice
• Complex needs
• Moderate learning difficulties
• Supporting children and young people with challenging behaviour
• Helping pupils who may have struggled in a school environment

You don’t have to have worked in alternative provision before. What matters to us is that you are patient, caring, consistent and able to build positive relationships with young people.

We’re looking for people who are reliable, approachable and have confidence to lead for the young people we work with.

A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for these roles.
