🍺 Happy National Beer Day!

Whether it's a crisp lager, a rich stout or a refreshing pale ale, great beer deserves packaging that helps it stay at its best from filling line to first sip.

One of the biggest challenges in preserving beer quality is protecting it from light exposure. Our dark amber glass bottles help reduce the risk of beer becoming light-struck, preserving its intended flavour and aroma from brewery to consumer.

🌱 Great Big Green Week is all about taking positive action for the environment. One area where brands can make a difference is their choice of packaging material.

Glass is 100% infinitely recyclable and can be remelted again and again without losing quality, helping to reduce waste and conserve raw materials.

At Beatson Clark, we support a circular approach to glass manufacturing through our dedicated on-site recycling plant, which helps us achieve high recycled content in our products.

🌍 This World Environment Day, take a look inside Beatson Clark's on-site recycling plant.

Our recycling plant processes around 44,000 tonnes of waste glass every year, producing high-quality cullet that can be melted down and remanufactured into new glass packaging.

By keeping recycling and production closely linked on the same site, we support a more circular approach to glass manufacturing while minimising waste across the glass lifecycle.

Did you know Beatson Clark’s arrow trademark was first created in 1935?

Designed by local graphic designer Peggy Fenton, who subsequently came to work for the company, the symbol was devised to represent speed and efficiency. It has since become one of the best-known packaging trademarks, recognised by consumers worldwide.

Although we first began operating in 1751, no trademark appears to have been used until its introduction in 1935. Yet to this day, you can find the Beatson Clark arrows on the bottom of every glass bottle and jar we produce!
