🎊🎉⭐We can now officially and excitedly announce that Happy Kids East Dene was inspected by Ofsted and the outcome was GOOD in all areas. We are so pleased to celebrate this in our 10th anniversary year.🎊🎉⭐
We are delighted that Ofsted have recognised the high quality of early education and childcare we provide at Happy Kids and want to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and team at East Dene who make this possible. A special mention should be made to our wonderful manager Megan and Area Manager Michelle who are inspirational leaders.
These are some quotes from the report but please feel free to read the full report on the Ofsted website.
Staff promote children's communication skills well overall. For instance, they strongly support children who find it hard to concentrate to increasingly focus their attention and maintain eye contact with the person who is speaking to them. Staff engage children in friendly conversations as they play and during
snack and mealtimes.
The manager provides passionate and purposeful leadership. She has led staff in developing a clear and focused curriculum to help children to progress in all areas of their learning. The curriculum is based on a deep understanding of the community the nursery serves and well-researched approaches to teaching.
Staff identify gaps in children's learning and development at an early stage. They work closely with parents and other
professionals, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists, to plan and support children's learning.

⭐️HEALTHY FOUNDATIONS - GOLD AWARD⭐️
This term we have spent a lot of time and dedication working towards achieving our Healthy Foundations Award! This meant that we had a really good look at the way we do certain things here at nursery. We made some changes such as to our menu and we were supported by parents making positive changes with our children’s pack lunches. We also looked at healthy eating, oral hygiene, emotional well being and exercise and movement.
It was really important for us to take part in this accreditation to ensure that we are offering the very best start for our children during their early years education.
I am very proud to share that here at Happy Kids East Dene, the staff, children and families we work with have achieved a GOLD AWARD!!
Massive well done guys - we are so proud and we couldn’t have done it without all the support of the amazing families that we work with 🥰🥰

📚Enjoying stories together📚
Sharing stories, talking and singing every day helps your child’s development in many ways and this is such a vital part of our children’s day at Happy Kids.
Reading and sharing stories can:
•help your child get to know sounds, words and language, and develop early literacy skills
learn to value books and stories
•spark your child’s imagination and stimulate curiosity
•help develop your child’s brain, ability to focus, concentration, social skills and communication skills
•help your child learn the difference between ‘real’ and ‘make-believe’
•help your child understand new or frightening events, and the strong emotions that come with them
•help your child learn about the world, their own culture and other cultures.
Sharing stories with your child doesn’t mean you have to read from the book - the children can see the illustrations and recall the story from memory!
But, just by looking at books with your child and talking about them, you can be a great storyteller and a good model for using language and books.

The funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday 19 September 2022, which has been declared a Bank Holiday.
As a mark of respect, and to allow our staff for their own reflections & to witness this sad, yet historic occasion (should they wish), all our nurseries will be closed on that day.
As with other bank holidays, parents are not expected to pay for services on that day and any parents who have already paid will receive a credit off their next invoice.
Thank you for your kind understanding 🖤
