Exciting new updates for 🩷🩵Happy Kids Thurcroft 🩷🩵

We’re so excited to share that our baby provision will be opening in mid-September! 🌿

We can’t wait to welcome our youngest little ones into the Happy Kids family. Although our baby provision will be based at a separate location in Thurcroft, our babies will remain very much part of the Happy Kids family, with the same nurturing approach, care and values that families know and love.

⚽🧸 A World Cup celebration and Teddy Bears' Picnic at Happy Kids Clifton! 🧸⚽

Our little superstars have been celebrating the World Cup in true Happy Kids style, with lots of football fun followed by a special Teddy Bears' Picnic! 🌳🧺

Physical development is such an important part of the early years. Running, kicking, balancing, throwing and working together all help children to build strength, coordination, confidence and teamwork, while having lots of fun along the way. ❤️

Whether they were scoring goals or sharing picnic treats with their favourite teddy, our Happy Kids were learning through play, making memories and developing skills that will last a lifetime.

🌟 A New Home to Explore and Grow 🌟

Welcome to the Twos Room at Happy Kids Clifton! 🩷🩵

Our beautiful Hygge-inspired open-plan environment stretches from one end of the building to the other and provides direct access to our outdoor area, creating endless opportunities for exploration, learning and discovery.

Our two-year-olds have been busy testing out their new surroundings and engaging with our high-quality resources with incredible enthusiasm, curiosity and energy! It has been wonderful to watch their confidence and independence flourish in this exciting new space. ✨

At Happy Kids, we are proud to have received national awards for our outstanding provision for two-year-olds, and we are delighted to see our newest environment already supporting so much learning and development. 🏆🥰

A huge thank you to all our parents for your continued support and patience during this transition, and to our amazing Happy Kids team for their dedication, hard work and commitment in bringing this wonderful space to life.

🌟 Make Your Own Playdough at Home! 🌟

Why not have some fun creating your own playdough together? It's quick, easy, and uses ingredients you may already have at home!

🧂 Simple Playdough Recipe

You will need:
• 2 cups plain flour
• 1 cup salt
• 1 tablespoon oil
• 1 cup warm water

Method:

1. Mix the flour and salt together in a bowl.
2. Add the oil and warm water.
3. Stir until combined, then knead until smooth.
4. If the dough feels sticky, add a little more flour.

✨ Optional extras:
• Food colouring for colourful dough
• Flower petals for a sensory experience
• Herbs such as rosemary, mint, or lavender for lovely scents
• Glitter (if you don't mind a little sparkle!)

💡 Learning Through Play

Playing with playdough supports many areas of your child's development:

✋ Fine Motor Skills – Squeezing, rolling, pinching, poking, and cutting dough helps strengthen the small muscles in hands and fingers, preparing children for writing, drawing, and using tools.

🗣️ Communication and Language – Talk about colours, textures, shapes, and creations together. Encourage your child to describe what they are making and share their ideas.

🔢 Mathematics – Count balls of dough, compare sizes, make patterns, explore shapes, and talk about concepts such as bigger, smaller, longer, and shorter.

🎨 Creativity and Imagination – Children can create anything they can imagine, from animals and people to cakes and treasure maps!
