About us

The Rotherham United Community Sports Trust works alongside Rotherham United Football Club to bring a better standard of living to various groups across the borough of Rotherham. Rotherham United Community Sports Trust is a community development programme that works across the borough of Rotherham in deprived areas with different communities and age groups, delivering under the three main themes of the Football League Trust: Education, Health & Wellbeing and Sport and Community Development. Through the power of football we promote physical and emotional health, healthy eating, healthy lifestyle, learning, confidence building, social integration and community cohesion. The Rotherham United Community Sports Trust delivers a wide range of activities across the three key themes that reflects needs of the diverse communities of Rotherham that it serves. Working in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the town, the Trust has delivered activity for over 61,000 participants in the last year. Rotherham United Community Sports Trust has been named the Coca-Cola Community Club of the Year at the Football League Awards 2012. Rotherham United Community Sports Trust has been named Yorkshire & Humber regional Community Club of the Year at the Football League Awards 2016.

HEALTH | Making memories with the Millers ❤️

Rotherham United first-team players Lenny Agbaire and Dean Gardner joined our Millers Memory Club, spending time chatting, sharing stories and getting involved with members of the group.

Our dementia support sessions bring people together through a shared connection to Rotherham United, creating opportunities to socialise, reminisce and make new memories!

The project was made possible by the Premier League and PFA Players’ Fund, supporting us to work alongside players to make a difference in our local community.

A huge thank you to Lenny and Dean for making the visit so special. 👏

But it’s about more than breakfast. The Morning Social creates a welcoming space for students to connect, socialise and start their day feeling energised, focused and ready to learn.

This October, we’ll be joining for a month of challenges in memory of the wonderful Owen Jenkinson, raising funds for PACT Sheffield.

We have such a special relationship with Owen’s family, so it means a huge amount to us to be involved, and we’re kicking things off with a very special event 🌱

📍 AESSEAL New York Stadium

Together with the Rotherham United Official Supporters Club, we’ll be officially opening the Owen Jenkinson Sensory Garden, followed by a 5K along the canal path.

HEALTH | A brilliant day out for our recovery group! 🐐

Our weekly recovery group swapped their usual surroundings for a visit to Wortley Fold Farm last week, and what a fantastic day it was!

A huge thank you to everyone at the farm for making the group feel so welcome, and a special shoutout to Roger, was absolutely outstanding with everyone throughout the visit👏

Our recovery sessions use physical activity and social opportunities to support adults in recovery from alcohol and substance misuse, and days like this are a great opportunity to get out, try something different and enjoy time together.
