Today we had some very special visitors at nursery – the firefighters came to see us! 🚒

The children loved learning all about how firefighters help keep us safe. We were shown how they use the hose to put out fires and had the chance to explore some of their equipment up close. The firefighters also showed us their protective uniform and explained why they wear it.

To make the visit even more exciting, Nicole had the opportunity to try on the firefighter uniform too! 👩‍🚒

The children had a fantastic time learning all about the important job firefighters do in our community. A big thank you to the firefighters for taking the time to visit us today!

Our Dream Catchers Nursery in Treeton now has a defibrillator installed outside the building, accessible 24/7. This life-saving equipment is available not just for our setting, but for the wider community in case of an emergency.

We’re especially pleased to have worked in partnership with Treeton Parish Council to make this happen—thank you for your support in helping us bring this vital resource to the area.

We hope it’s never needed, but having it in place means we can all feel a little safer knowing help is close by🤍

🌱 Spring Nursery Set-Up 🌸

The nursery is officially ready for spring! With the lighter mornings and warmer days on the way, it’s the perfect time to refresh our space and bring a little bit of the outdoors inside.

We’ve been busy adding bright colours, cosy corners, and nature-inspired activities to spark curiosity and creativity. From planting seeds and exploring textures to enjoying story time surrounded by spring decorations, our little learners are ready for a season full of discovery. 🌼

We can’t wait to watch the children grow, learn, and flourish just like the plants we’ll be caring for together. 🌿

Today we have had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day 2026 @ Parkgate! The children enjoyed a variety of exciting activities all based around their love of stories and books.

Throughout the day we have shared some of our favourite stories, explored different books together and took part in fun activities inspired by the characters we know and love. The children also enjoyed dressing up and bringing their favourite stories to life through imaginative play.

Reading plays such an important role in supporting children's language, creativity and imagination, and today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy books bring!

The children in our preschool room at Parkgate have been celebrating Chinese new year this week by creating our very own colourful Chinese dragons!

The children have explored a variety of textures, colours and materials, using their fine motor skills to carefully stick tissue paper and ribbons onto their dragons. We have talked about how the dragon is a special symbol of Strength, power and good luck in the Chinese culture❤️

We have opened our very own supermarket at Dream Catchers Parkgate today🫜🧀

Through pretend play children are developing so much more than we realise. They are taking on the role of as shopkeepers, customers which encourages conversations, questioning and storytelling. They are developing early maths skills by counting objects, recognising numbers, handling money and understanding quantity💵

This morning at nursery we have explored the colour red, making some beautiful pictures for Valentine’s Day! We practiced using precision and control with our paintbrushes along with some other Love activities 🎨🖌️

the children in the pre school room have recently discovered the story pumpkin soup which they enjoyed exploring with their friends as they created their own pumpkin soup in the water tray.
