🌹✨ MEET OUR NARRATORS! ✨🌹
We’re delighted to introduce Emilia Jackson, Poppy Khidir, Lola Christian and Lexie Baker, who will be taking on the role of our wonderful Narrators in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr at Rotherham Civic Theatre, 8th–10th October! 🥀🎭
🎭 EMILIA JACKSON
11-year-old Emilia has been lighting up the stage since she first began dancing at just four years old. She made her musical theatre debut at six in Mary Poppins Returns with Triple Threat Theatre Academy and has gone on to play roles including Augustus Gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, July in Annie, Mr Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz.
She has also appeared in school productions as Young Simba, the Genie and Moana, as well as performing with Rotherham Rep in the children’s choir for The Vicar of Dibley. Since joining Gillian Banks Theatre School in 2025, Emilia has performed as Right Crab in Moana Jr., Pepper in Annie and in various ensemble roles. We can’t wait to see her bring her energy and experience to Beauty and the Beast Jr! ✨
🌹 POPPY KHIDIR
Poppy has been a proud member of Gillian Banks Theatre School for around six years and has taken part in many wonderful productions, including Frozen, Matilda and Moana, as well as numerous shows and pantomimes.
She has also completed several IDTA examinations in different styles of dance, including ballet and tap. Poppy is thrilled to be performing as both a Narrator and the Lady with the Cane and says performing is something she truly loves. ❤️
Poppy dedicates this performance to her Auntie Jackie Bradley, her biggest supporter and inspiration, and to Daniel Towriss, a truly special and amazingly talented soul who will always hold a special place in her heart. 🌹
✨ LOLA CHRISTIAN
Lola has taken on some fantastic characters during her time performing, including Pugsley Addams and the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. She particularly enjoys performing in pantomimes and continues to develop her skills through training with Northern Prep Squad & Company A Theatre.
We’re so excited to see Lola take to the stage as one of our narrators and help bring the magical world of Beauty and the Beast Jr to life! 🥀✨
🌟 LEXIE BAKER
Lexie has been part of Gillian Banks Theatre School since she was just four years old and has loved performing ever since. Over the years, she has appeared in productions including Frozen, Matilda and Moana, where she played an Ancestor.
She has also performed in three pantomimes, including the role of Prince Charming, as well as performing solos on stage for school. Lexie has also taken on acting challenges outside of productions, including playing Jack in her LAMDA exam performance of Into the Woods.
This year, Lexie is excited to be taking on both the Baker and a Narrator, and we can’t wait to see her bring both characters to life! 🌹
