A shoutout to one of my singing students, Scarlett. She works so hard every week and brings so much passion to every lesson. Scarlett is always happy to take on board my advice and applies it to her practice at home.
In fact, I sometimes have to tell her to stop practising because she's so dedicated! As important as practice is, rest is just as important for a healthy voice.
It's been lovely to see how much she has grown as a vocalist and how her voice continues to develop. Her commitment to improving is making such a difference, and I'm really proud of the progress she's making.

Last week I had the pleasure of watching We Will Rock You at the Rotherham Civic Theatre, performed by SYPA and it was brilliant from start to finish.
A special mention has to go to my student, Bronte, who played Scaramouche. She was absolutely fantastic in the role and completely owned the stage. Her confidence, energy and talent shone through in every scene, and I couldn't have been prouder watching her take on such a demanding lead role.
The whole cast, crew, musicians and production team should be incredibly proud of themselves. It was clear how much hard work had gone into the production, and the result was a thoroughly entertaining and memorable show.
Congratulations to everyone involved, you were amazing!

So proud to see my student Tilly taking on the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar! 🌟
We’ve been working so hard on some of her songs, and even though I’ve only had Tilly a short while, it’s been amazing watching her grow in confidence and develop her voice into something much more powerful! I’m really looking forward to seeing how her voice continues to develop and to watching her grow as a vocalist.

An overdue shout out to my student Bella who I’ve been teaching for a few years now.
It’s been lovely watching how much progress she’s made. Bella always turns up and always gives the songs I give her full effort regardless if they’re her taste or not.
Bella’s warm-ups have got stronger and you can hear the improvement in her voice each week.
More than that though, it’s been great seeing her confidence grow. She’s starting to really find her voice and become more comfortable using it, which is such an important part of learning to sing.
Bella has amazing music taste and even introduces myself to new artists.

A shout out to my student Oliver, he started his lessons with a clear passion and genuine love for music, particularly wanting to focus on developing his vocals. Since then, Oliver’s voice has come on tremendously. He has made fantastic progress, growing in both confidence and technical ability.

Interestingly, while Oliver’s personal listening taste leans more towards alternative artists and bands, he has discovered a real enjoyment and strength in singing musical theatre. He approaches every genre with openness and curiosity, which has allowed him to develop as a vocalist.

Oliver has a real impressive knowledge of bands and albums, showing a deep appreciation and understanding of music beyond his years. With his dedication and enthusiasm I just know Oliver could have a bright future within the arts 🌟

He only started performing live in November and has gradually been taking on more bookings as his confidence and experience grow.

One of Jo’s big goals was to perform in front of an audience — and she’s been doing exactly that! I couldn’t be prouder.
Jo has come on so much vocally in lessons. She has a great understanding of her own voice and knows what really suits her as an alto.
She isn’t afraid to push herself to keep progressing.
