Day 4 of the Iprosurv Combined A2 CofC and GVC Course, and today is practical flight test day.
Yesterday, every single one of our students passed their theory test.
A fantastic well done to each and every one of them. That is a brilliant achievement and a real credit to the effort, focus and commitment they have shown throughout the course.
But now, the theory is behind us.
Today is different.
Today is where knowledge becomes action.
Site briefing.
Site setup.
Pre-flight checks.
In-flight checks.
Post-flight checks.
Controlled flight exercises.
Emergency procedures.
This is the point where remote pilots prove they can think, act and operate safely in a real-world environment.
The sky is overcast, the test flags are out, and the wind conditions are looking great.
Now it is time to put everything into practice.
To every student stepping up today, show us what you have.
This is not just about passing a flight test. It is about becoming a safer, more capable and more confident drone operator.
Good luck to everyone on todayβs practical assessment.

Day 3 of our Combined A2 CofC and GVC Drone Training Course is underway at Iprosurv HQ.
Today we complete the final mandatory theory units:
Unit 7: General UAS Knowledge
Unit 8: Operator Responsibilities
Unit 9: Operating Principles
These are key areas for anyone serious about becoming a safe, capable and commercially aware drone operator.
It may be a wet day here in Rotherham, but that does not stop the training. At Iprosurv, real-world learning does not depend on perfect weather.
This afternoon, our students move into practical learning using our indoor simulators, indoor trainer drones and FPV systems. It is a chance to build confidence, develop handling skills, explore different drone platforms and understand how drone technology is being used across real inspection environments.
The Iprosurv training experience is about more than passing a course.
It is about introducing students to new drones, new use cases, business opportunities and real-world inspection scenarios drawn from work Iprosurv has completed across industry.
The day finishes with the final theory test and an important session on drone maintenance, because professional operators need to understand not only how to fly, but how to look after their equipment, manage risk and operate responsibly.
If you are looking to start your drone journey, gain your A2 CofC or GVC, or build the confidence to use drones in real commercial environments, Iprosurv can help you get there.
Train with people who do this for real.

Day 1 of our four-day combined A2 CofC and GVC drone training course with Iprosurv brought students deeper into the world of professional drone operations.
We started in the classroom with an introduction to drones, including Unit 1: Air Law and Safety, where students explored the rules, responsibilities, and safety principles behind every competent drone flight.
Then it was time to get hands-on.
The students moved into drone maintenance, learning why aircraft care, pre-flight checks, battery awareness, and equipment readiness are not just good practice, but essential parts of safe and professional operations.
From there, we headed outside for Exercise 1: First Flight.
This introduced the students to site setup, take-off and landing procedures, and the importance of creating a safe operating environment before the drone leaves the ground. They also gained valuable flight time on our DJI Mini 5 Pro training drones, developing confidence, control, and familiarity with the aircraft.
We finished back in the classroom with Unit 2: Airspace Operating Principles, looking at how drone operations fit into the wider aviation environment.
So, what does today hold
Day 2 kicks off with a Q&A session, giving students the chance to ask anything they have been thinking about overnight.
Then we move into Unit 3: Airmanship and Aviation Safety, followed by Unit 4: Human Performance and Limitations. These units are vital because being a remote pilot is not just about controlling a drone. It is about decision-making, situational awareness, discipline, planning, and understanding the human factors that can affect safe flight.
After that, we are back outside for an introduction to the GVC practical flight test, more practical flying, and on-site risk assessments.
This is where Iprosurv training stands apart.
With our on-site practical flight training area, skills poles, classroom facilities, and dedicated outdoor flight space all in one location, students can move seamlessly between theory and practical application. They are not just learning what to do. They are learning how to think, assess, prepare, operate, and adapt like professional remote pilots.
The day will finish with Unit 5: Meteorology, Unit 6: Maps and Charts, and further drone maintenance training. Weather, airspace, navigation, planning, equipment care, and practical flight skills all come together to build the foundation of safe, confident, and capable drone operations.
This is what professional drone training should look like.
Classroom learning. Practical flying. Real-world decision-making. On-site facilities. Instructor-led development. Confidence built one flight at a time.

Today marked the final test day for our Iprosurv Combined A2 CofC and GVC drone training course, and what a success it was.
Throughout the course, our students demonstrated excellent piloting skills, strong operational knowledge, and the ability to apply what they had learned in real-world scenarios.
It was a real pleasure to teach such a diverse group, with learners joining us from construction, media, engineering, the MOD, and others just beginning their journey towards becoming self-employed drone operators.
At Iprosurv, we are not just a drone training provider. We are also an active drone operating company with a UK-wide pilot network of more than 120 drone operators and a client base that includes some of the UK's largest companies. This means our students benefit not only from technical training, but also from practical advice based on real industry experience, including how to build and develop a drone business.
But today is all about our students.
Congratulations to every one of you. You should be proud of what you have achieved, and we wish you every success as you take the next step in your drone journey.
For those already booked onto our Basic Mapping Course, we look forward to seeing you again shortly.
