I NOTICE...the raindrops hitting the ground.
I WONDER..why it has rained for so many days?
I ALREADY KNOW...about the water cycle which might help me to answer my question. 💧

We used these prompts from when we were sat in the shed, watching the rain after investigating the flow of the stream at the bottom of the allotment, hurriedly planting the slightly dampened seeds and trimming the last straggly branches from the plum tree with our new loppers before the buds appear.

The little man then went on to ask "does the water ever leave the Earth?"

🍂 Who needs a soft play area on a rainy day when you have a shed, a notebook, and a pen and the time and stillness to allow your mind to expand and get all of those ideas down! 💡

Damson, anyone? 🫐

We have had such a glut of them this year after not having any that ripened last!

We have made a batch of jam, which didn't turn out, so we extracted the syrup from the pan, which made up a few bottles ready for porridge and pancake breakfasts. We'll give it another whirl tomorrow and maybe a few cheeky bottle of damson gin.

Did you know...?

Damsons are rich in:

- Vitamins A and C
- Fibre and antioxidants
- Potassium and manganese
- Anti-inflammatory compounds

Damsons have been linked to:

- Improved cardiovascular health
- Enhanced cognitive function
- Support for digestive health
- Anti-cancer properties
