ROOTED AUTUMN EQUINOX WALK 🍂

A beautiful, slow ramble last weekend across the Longshaw Estate in Derbyshire, taking in the last of the energy from the trees before they let go of their leaves and retreat for winter and the energy of the sun we were blessed with that afternoon.

Away from the crowds and being mindful of our surroundings, it was also an opportunity to practise noticing - noticing the details within our immediate environment and therefore noticing our own internal worlds.

CONKER SEASON! 🌰

What do you even do with them if you're not playing conkers?! Isn't it just the excitement and anticipation of knocking them off the tree and cracking them open that makes it worthwhile collecting them?

My little man makes 'pocket hugs with them! He sticks a little heart sticker on them and decorates them, and gives them to people to keep in their pockets 🥰

ABUNDANCE 🍎...
.. I've always loved the abundance of this time of year and the idea of gathering and prepping for the colder months ahead. It mustvtap into the gatherer instinct or something?

This windy morning, I collected the windfall apples, another posy of our beautiful Cosmos and purple and green curly kale for tea tonight. Any delicious suggestions of what to make with Butternut squash and curly kale?

Come and join me, Claire, for a gentle evening ramble across the Peak District Eastern Moors as we welcome the Autumn Equinox.

We’ll take some time to slow down, enjoy the landscape and let go of what we no longer need, with a little guided meditation, reflection and some easy, grounding yoga by the brook. 🍂

🐝 Found this little fella cosied up inside one of the BEAUTIFUL cosmos flowers in our allotment.

It could be dead and decided this beautiful flower would be it's fjnal resting place (because, why not?), but sometimes, as summer ends and there are fewer flowers, the bees have less sugar to keep them going and so they often find a flower to rest in for a while. The rainy weather last week could also be a reason as to why it decided to shelter there.
