πŸ–οΈπŸš Baby Room Beach Week! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

Our little beach explorers had a splashing time this week! πŸ₯°πŸ–️

We created our very own seaside sensory tray, complete with soft sand, blue silky β€œsea,” shells, sea creatures and a bucket and spade. πŸšπŸ¦€πŸ πŸͺ£

Our babies loved getting stuck in! They scooped, filled, emptied and poured the sand, developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination along the way. They also enjoyed discovering all the different textures β€” from the grainy sand and bumpy shells to the silky sea! πŸ‘‹βœ¨

Of course, no trip to the seaside would be complete without some singing! 🎢🌊 We enjoyed β€œI Had a Tiny Turtle” and β€œA Sailor Went to Sea”, with lots of little hands copying the actions and plenty of smiles along the way! πŸ’βš“οΈπŸ’™

✨ Messy hands, busy minds! ✨

Today our toddlers had a fantastic time exploring mark making in flour! 🀍 Using their fingers, hands and different tools, they created lines, circles, patterns and their own wonderful creations before adding water to see what happened.

This fun sensory activity encouraged the children to explore different textures, notice how the flour changed, and introduced lots of exciting new words such as soft, powdery, wet, sticky, smooth, dry, mix, pour and squishy. As they chatted about what they could see and feel, they were building their communication and language skills while having lots of messy fun!

Learning through play is the best kind of learning, especially when there’s a little bit of mess involved! πŸ’›
