📣 We are well into our final half term of the academic year, which means it is time for another Proud Podium celebration! We have some fantastic achievements to recognise this week.

Imogen, Poppy, and Joseph proudly performed poems they had written themselves in front of students from other schools across the Trust, showcasing their creativity and confidence.

Ava achieved incredible success at a recent kickboxing competition, winning four medals. She has plenty more competitions ahead of her this year, including the exciting opportunity to compete at the World Championships in Madrid.

Alex also impressed audiences over the half-term break with a performance in ‘Gods and Heroes’ at the Doncaster Little Theatre.

What wonderful achievements! We are incredibly proud of you all. Keep sharing your successes with us – we love celebrating everything you achieve both in and out of school.

Some of our Science Leaders were given the opportunity to complete one of their leadership tasks by helping to plan, run, and support an activity based around our current theme of learning about different technician roles. 🔎🥼

This week, Lilly helped to lead the annual “How to Make Chicken Strips” project and the “How to Make Spaghetti Bolognese” activity. These sessions focused on following instructions safely, understanding how to measure ingredients correctly, and learning how to prepare and cook food safely before taking it home.

The students were provided with information and guidance from Lilly, her group, and staff on the best ways to complete both activities efficiently and safely. Clear instructions were given throughout, along with ongoing support and guidance whenever mistakes were made.

They demonstrated excellent examples of the School Way by learning from their mistakes and making improvements, listening carefully to guidance from others, and helping one another to produce some excellent food safely.

Our Science Leaders performed very well in completing another section of their programme and are now close to completing this year’s course. They should be proud of the progress they have made and the skills they have developed throughout the year.

All students who attended will receive a free raffle ticket for the Attendance Wheel, which will take place during the final week before the summer break.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week for another of our Science Technicians Project activities, where we will be exploring the role of a Countryside Ranger through a range of planned activities.

Thrybergh Goes International! ✈️

Just before half-term, 30 students from Thrybergh Academy took the opportunity to expand their cultural, artist and cultural knowledge by travelling to Madrid, the first group to do so in quite some time.

The students got to see a plethora of exciting landmarks, including the Alcazar de Segovia, the Royal Palace, the Reina Sofia museum and the Bernabeu stadium.

They also got to take part in a cookery class (and did well!), visit the bullring and spend the morning in a Spanish school!

More importantly, they did the school proud, demonstrating the Thrybergh Way and trying new things, and making new friends along the way.

A huge thank you to Miss Borges, Mrs Viney and Mr Boucher for their hard work and their time, which helped make this such an unforgettable experience for all.

Please keep your eyes peeled for future trips soon… 👀
