Online lessons now available. Fancy drumming but don't have the time to travel to the school? We also offer one-to-one online drum lessons via Skype or Zoom. To participate all you need is drum sticks, a device such as a iPad/tablet or laptop and a good internet connection. Message for details.

At the Yorkshire Drum School we offer professional drum and guitar tuition. All levels are catered for, however, we do specialise in beginners. We have an 100% pass rate in exams, however, we do believe that it is more important to have fun whilst learning the drums, and graded exams can be taken, if desired.

Fab to see Steve Green on tv earlier with the RAF band at the Birmigham symphony hall.. Steve had lessons with Dave with the aim of achieving his goals to join the RAF band as a musician officer.. with lots of hard work Steve passed the audition and is now touring the world as a kit/percussionist… great to see his dreams come true..

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR DRUM STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Morning all,

With the current situation and the very unclear message from downing street yesterday, all lessons are still going ahead as normal. If you feel you want to cancel lessons, put them on hold, please let us know. Obviously, it’s very difficult times for many, but your support is appreciated.

We have taken extra measures in keeping the rooms, and equipment clean. I am asking students to clean their hands before they touch the sticks, which have been wiped down after every use, even if they are using their own. We then clean hands after the lesson as well.

If you do have any concerns call me, anytime.

Hi all

Here’s a cool sticking pattern exercise for you all to try. Suitable for everyone. Start slowly, no metronome. Try this on a pad to begin with. Or turn off the sound on your electric kit, and use the snare only.
Make sure the accents are clear and consistent.

Enjoy this as it’s really cool to play and then apply around the kit.

Aim: To offer the best possible value, comprehensive and enjoyable drum and guitar tuition. Mainly that all students enjoy the lessons and enjoy making music at all levels.

At the Yorkshire Drum School we offer professional drum and guitar tuition. All levels are catered for and we are extremely patient with beginners. We are happy to teach from the age of 5 years upwards. We have been teaching since 1994 so have a wealth of experience. Many of our students are now professional musicians. If you want to begin, improve or turn professional we can help!

We have an 100% pass rate in exams, however, we do believe that it is more important to have fun whilst learning the drums, and graded exams can be taken, if desired. We use tried and tested teaching methods, developed over many years. The lessons are tailored for all reasons - individual needs, play for fun or take exams.
