West Shield 2026
This afternoon a squad of ten Year 9's went to represent St Pius X at the re-launch of the West Shield Trophy. This was a competition run across the Dearne Valley from 1922 through to 1970, with Pope Pius being the beaten finalists back in 1969.
The boys were outstanding throughout, going through the 5 fixtures unbeaten. One win and four draws left them second out of six teams.
A fantastic effort and a great result for Saint Pius X. β½π

πU15 Boys Cricket π
Our U15 boys were in action on Monday after school against Oakwood High School and put on a fantastic display of cricket! ππ
Batting first, the boys posted a strong total of 119 runs. There were some excellent performances with the bat, including H Asquith retiring not out on 31 and O Francis retiring not out on 30. ππ
The team showed great teamwork, determination and skill throughout the innings. Unfortunately, after a closely fought contest, Oakwood High School chased down the target on the final ball, finishing on 120 runs.
A tough result to take, but a brilliant performance from the boys β plenty of positives to build on! πͺ
Well played, lads! ππ

Our Year 9 Sports Leaders did an amazing job today helping run a Year 4 Rounders and Year 3 Cricket festival for 3 of our primaries. Despite the weather, we were able to run an enjoyable day in the sports hall with lots of happy and exhausted students.
