That’s it for this year ! I’m so grateful for the support from all of my families. I’ve received some lovely gifts and cards which I appreciate more than I can say. I’m looking forward to welcoming all my little ones back in January, but for now it’s time for a rest and some quality time with my family.

An Impromptu lesson at snack time using a melon.

The boys held the ‘heavy’ melon, and carefully passed it between themselves. They watched as I cut it open carefully, using the ‘sharp’ knife. They described what they saw inside. They felt the seeds and the flesh. They smelt the melon, we spoke about the parts that we could eat and the parts that needed to be thrown away, and eventually ate the ‘juicy’ melon.
We discussed the weight, colour, size and texture and used almost every one of our senses.
The boys were totally engrossed.

Sometimes the best lessons are ones that we don’t plan for.

Another visit from the mobile zoo at toddler group today. The children have had the most fabulous time ! They were so brave ! Leanne from the mobile zoo answered all our questions and taught us about each animal. The children behaved impeccably, making sure that they waited their turn, were very gentle and listened to the instructions 🐍🐰🦎

A beautiful gift this morning from one of my parents ! I think they may be too nice to eat 🎄🎄

Christmas has arrived 🎄

I’m so pleased with my new purchase this week. Hand made bean bags, numbered one to ten ! These are perfect for my little ones who love to throw things ! We’ll also use these for number recognition, sorting, stacking and for playing games.
