We are holding a drop-in session at Attain Skills and Knowledge (153 Doncaster Road Goldthorpe S63 9JB on Thursday the 20th August 2026 between 10am and 3pm for anyone who would like to pop in for an informal chat and see what options are available.

CONNECT TO WORK
Connect to work is part of the Yorkshire's pathway to work initiative and supports the region's 10-year plan, both launched in 2025
It's delivered through a network of partners,including South Yorkshire mayoral combined Authority and is funded by the UK Government.
A bit of information on what Connect to Work offers:
They are a free employmeny support programme for people aged 18+ living.
They support individuals who are living with health conditions,disabilities,or facing other barriers to finding or staying in work. Offer includes:
Up to 8 months pre-employment support
CV writing and covering letter support
Help accessing training or courses
Up to 4 months in-work support once employment is secured and much more
They take flexable person-centred approach and would like to support you in finding your ideal job.

Just to clarify, Attain skills and Knowledge has not closed or been taken over by another company.
We are now working in partnership with Phoenix Assessment who are based in Rotherham town centre. This is about combining out strengths to provide a smoother service and we will continue to operate as the same business our customers know and trust.

Important notice -
It is with deep sadness that we need to inform everyone concerned, that our Managing Director Walter Bridgen has sadly passed away after a short illness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His funeral will be held on Wednesday the 11th March.
Place of service - St Helens church at 1.45pm (High street Thurnscoe S63 0RH) and later at the Thurnscoe cemetary at 2.30pm (S63 0RP)
Refreshments will be back at the Ship wmc in Thurnscoe afterwards.
Ben, Walt's son has told us to say everone is welcome.
