๐ Celebrating Staff Wellbeing โ Hug in a Mug ๐
At our nursery, looking after our team is just as important as looking after our children. One of the ways we promote staff wellbeing is through our much-loved โHug in a Mugโ initiative.
Each week, we celebrate a different staff member and recognise the incredible care, dedication, and positivity they bring to our nursery. Our chosen team member receives a special mug filled with yummy treats and cosy drink sachets โ a little reminder of how valued they are. โ๐ซ
To make the week even more special, they also enjoy an extra 10-minute break each day, giving them time to relax, recharge, and enjoy their Hug in a Mug moments.
Itโs our small way of saying thank you and spreading kindness, appreciation, and wellbeing throughout our team โ because happy, supported staff create the very best environment for our children. ๐

This , we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who generously give their time, energy, and dedication to supporting our nursery Stay and Play sessions. ๐ฅฐ
We'd also like to give special recognition to Lily, who began her journey with us as a volunteer. From the very beginning, she demonstrated outstanding skills, enthusiasm, and dedication. Her hard work led to us offering her a Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship, which she has now nearly completed. ๐คฉ
Lily's journey is a wonderful example of how volunteering can open doors, build confidence, and create rewarding career opportunities. We are incredibly proud of everything she has achieved and grateful for the contribution she continues to make to our nursery community. ๐

๐๐ฟ Busy Little Builders in the Nursery Garden! ๐ฟ๐
Our nursery children have been working incredibly hard this week creating their very own bug hotel in the garden! The children carefully explored the outdoor area, finding and selecting natural materials such as sticks, leaves and bark to make the hotel cosy and welcoming for our tiny visitors.
Once the hotel was ready, we went on an exciting bug hunt, searching high and low to find insects to come and live in their new home. The children showed fantastic teamwork, curiosity and care for nature, talking about where bugs like to live and why they are important for our environment.
This activity links beautifully to the EYFS, supporting:
๐ฑ Understanding the World โ exploring the natural environment and living things
๐ฃ๏ธ Communication and Language โ discussing ideas, asking questions and learning new vocabulary
๐ Physical Development โ using fine and gross motor skills to collect and build
๐ Personal, Social and Emotional Development โ working together, sharing resources and showing respect for living creatures
What a wonderful way to learn through hands-on outdoor play! We canโt wait to see who checks into the bug hotel next ๐๐ชฒ๐

These sessions are designed for children aged 0-5 years and are completely free of charge. Itโs a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect with each other while children can socialise and make new friends.
Each session will end with a story based on our weekly theme and a song, with Makaton signs! ๐๐ถ
Plus, we offer complimentary drinks and snacks!
We look forward to seeing you there!๐
