Merry Christmas from everyone in the Medical Education Team

Photos from Rotherham Hospital Education Centre's post 31/10/2025

Today we were running a Ward of Horrors โ€“ Safety Challenge Competition for staff to visit in their breaks. There were over 40 "risks" set up in our clinical skills and teams were invited to spend up to 15 minutes to spot as many patient risks in the room as possible.

Celebrating Dr Nadi Gupta
By GP Trainee Dr A.A

"Dr Nadi Gupta, my clinical supervisor during my sexual health rotation, is the person I would like to celebrate. I feel so grateful and lucky that I had the chance to work under her guidance. From the first day, she was cheerful, energetic, and reassuring, making me feel safe and confident as her first neurodivergent trainee. She was always understanding, cooperative, and willing to do everything in her capacity to help me succeed. Because of her support, I felt comfortable, respected, and encouraged, and this rotation became the best one I have ever had. It helped me to discover myself, to trust in my own abilities, and to find a new passion for sexual health. I will always remember how she and the team showed love, care, and dedication, and I wish all trainers could be like herโ€”good teachers, good listeners, and truly inspiring."

"I would like to say thank you from here to the moon and back to Dr Gupta . This rotation helped me to discover myself, my area of interest, and to know that there are good people, good teachers, and good listeners out there. I was truly lucky to have her as my supervisor."

Celebrating Dr Dominic Luttrell
By J - Third year medical student

"I really appreciate how the doctor went out of his way to find opportunities for me to practise clinical skills. He also took the time to explain things and was always happy to answer any questions. It was great that he pointed out clinical signs on patients, making a big difference in helping me understand the clinical context. Overall, he made an significant impact on my first clinical placement and made it feel more engaging and supported, whilst on the wards. "

"Thank you so much for taking the time to help me with my clinical skills. I really appreciate you going out of your way to find out which sign-offs I still needed and even tracking down cannula opportunities in the last few days of my rotation. Thank you for your teaching too and bringing attention to different clinical signs, like heart murmurs or visual defects! "
