📖 Today, Class 4 finished their very own stories! After working hard to plan and publish their writing, the children had the exciting opportunity to share their finished pieces with Class 3. They were incredibly proud to showcase their work and enjoyed listening to their classmates stories too.

It was fantastic to see the children sharing their ideas with confidence and celebrating all the hard work they have put into their writing. Well done, Class 4!

📣 Recently, Year 5 and Year 6 took part in their School Council elections, giving pupils the opportunity to have their say and choose their new year group representatives.

Before voting, candidates completed questionnaires outlining their ideas and shared their plans with their classmates. Pupils then listened carefully to each candidate before making their choice and voting for the pupils they felt would best represent their views and help make a positive difference to school life. Well done to everyone who took part!

📣 This week, Class 4 were very excited to get started on their new writing unit inspired by ‘Flat Stanley‘. To begin, the children explored what it would feel like to be flat, and had a go at making themselves as flat as possible by lying on the floor! They then took part in a fun hot seat activity, asking Flat Stanley questions about what life is like when you’re flat.

It was a fantastic way to bring the character to life and get everyone excited about their new writing unit. Well done, Class 4!

🚨 Recently, Y6 took part in an engaging and practical visit to Crucial Crew, where they developed important life skills and learned how to keep themselves and others safe. Through a range of interactive scenarios, pupils explored fire safety, road safety and water safety, as well as learning how to use public buses safely and responsibly. They also gained an insight into how law courts work and developed their understanding of child exploitation, including how to recognise unsafe situations and where to seek support.

It was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their knowledge and confidence through practical, real-life experiences. Well done, Year 6!

🏉 In PE, Year 2 have been developing their throwing and catching skills. They have been learning how to hold a rugby ball correctly and practising their throwing technique, focusing on their grip, aim and control. They worked in partners to practise throwing and catching, building their confidence, coordination and teamwork along the way.

It has been fantastic to see pupils working hard and enjoying developing their new skills. Well done, Y2!

❄️ Year 2 have been working hard in Writing, exploring a new setting – a snowy forest! The children used expanded noun phrases to describe what they could see, hear and touch, while also thinking about how they might feel in such a setting.

It was fantastic to see them using their imaginations and developing their descriptive writing skills. Well done, Year 2!

🔒 Today, Y5/6 developed their essential life skills during a Money Matters lesson, focused on keeping money and personal information safe. The children explored different types of scams, learned how to create strong and secure passwords, and designed their own top tips posters to help others stay safe online.

It was a fantastic opportunity to develop their critical thinking and online safety skills while learning how to protect themselves and their information. Well done, Year 5/6!

💡 In Science, Year 5/6 have been shining a light on how we see! Pupils learned that light travels in straight lines before investigating how mirrors can be used to see objects that are behind them.

Working in groups, they used torches, mirrors, objects and string to map out the path of light from its source to their eyes. It was a fantastic hands-on investigation that brought their learning to life.
