🌏🌏🌏 Saving the planet and the pounds! 💷💷💷
We know uniform can be expensive and we know how quickly children grow!
Wearing our uniform shows the world we are proud to be part of Ryecroft and we are grateful to our families who pass on uniform for our 'Rescue and Relove' rail. Families are welcome to take whatever is useful and we restock as often as possible.

All Around the World in 35 Days! This half term, our Key Stage 1 children have been taking part in an exciting journey ‘All Around the World in 35 Days’!

This week, our learning took us to Rio! The children have enjoyed reading Mr Elephant’s Rio Tour and learning all about Rio.

In writing, the children have been developing their descriptive language by creating expanded noun phrases to describe a beautiful beach scene.

Marvellous Maths at Ryecroft

Year 1 children enjoyed making their maths learning practical this week while using songs and rhymes to support their understanding of number. They demonstrated our school values of community, care and respect as they worked together.

Over a decade ago, some of our amazing Year 2 pupils organised special fundraising events to buy a defibrillator that could be used by our community. We even got in the paper and received a letter from a cardiologist at the hospital!❤️‍🩹❤️‍❤️‍🩹❤️‍❤️‍🩹❤️‍❤️‍🩹❤️‍❤️‍🩹❤️‍❤️‍🩹❤️‍❤️‍🩹

Now thank to our families and their support of the Summer Fair, we were able to raise enough money to buy a brand new piece of equipment to help protect our children, staff and local community.

Once upon a time...

Our Foundation children have begun their first learning theme 'Once Upon a Time'.

To start their journey into the wonderful world of traditional tales, the children have been exploring Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They've enjoyed getting to know the characters, retelling the story and discovering what happened when Goldilocks wandered into the bears' cottage.

🫅🫅'One more step along the world ...' 🫅🫅

This week we said 'au revoir' to the 'Queen of Ryecroft' our wonderful Mrs Needham. After almost 3 decades at our school her love, care and dedication to the children and staff of this community has touched more of our families that she would care to remember. Nothing but a special celebration would do!

She leaves us with all our love to spend more special time with her lovely husband Alan and her grandchildren.

See you soon Mrs N - we are forever impressed by you!
