Great effort to our RSK members in today’s Squad Training with English Karate Alliance in Barnsley. For Jim it was his first one and I hope to see him back to many more. Squad training is about pushing beyond those comfort zones and training with others of all abilities and ages outside your own Dojo.

WUKF Official British Open Championships 2026 in Crawley.

This was a really well ran competition and a great weekend of karate and friends.

Sometimes things don’t go your way, your performance is not what you planned. It is how you deal with it that makes the difference. It is what happens in sport and what makes competition.

Lynette Sensei’s Kata in day one didn’t go to plan with high expectations. That being said with lessons learned as we are always learning in Karate Lynette went away picked herself up and reset for day two.

Representing KKO-GB in Shobu Ippon 41-50yrs, after a mammoth fight to try and make the final. On equal points she didn’t get the referee’s decision. Bringing home Bronze 🥉🥊

We stopped with our Shinbuko friends in an Airbnb and had a great time in Crawley.

Looking forward to preparing to go again lessons learned, onwards and upwards for the WUKF European’s to be held this year in Sheffield.
